In this episode, Wayne and Rebecca from Your Bourbon Journey break down Westward Milestone Edition 4: “An Expression of Time & Place.” Crafted by Master Blender Miles Munroe at Westward Whiskey Distillery in Portland, Oregon, this limited-run American Single Malt Whiskey is drawn from an evolving 21-barrel fractional solera system featuring some of the distillery’s oldest mature stocks.
Secondary cask maturations in Hungarian oak and large French oak Armagnac casks infuse this 114-proof powerhouse with rich European brandy character. Fermented with ale yeast and double pot distilled from 100% malted two-row barley, this pour delivers an unexpected, palate-electrifying effervescence that reminds us of the legendary Starlight Champagne finish.
